The Columbia Alumni Association of Rhode Island (CAARI) and the Ocean State Film Society invite you to attend a film screening of "Kill Your Darlings" (2013) that will be hosted by Professor Richard Weiner ('76, '79GSAS). The film chronicles acclaimed Beat Generation writer and American poet Allen Ginsberg during his first year at Columbia, and a 1944 murder linking him to fellow beat poets Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, and Lucien Carr. Professor Weiner, who teaches political theory and comparative political sociology, will introduce the movie and lead a discussion after the screening.
