Set in FBP’s black box theater, we sampled an eclectic repertoire choreographed by various members of the FBP Company.
Artistic Director Misha Djuric, who also choreographed a selection, gave introductions and background information at the start of every piece. In all, the alumni viewed seven out of eight pieces during the two-hour rehearsal.
The evening began with a quick happy-hour at Blaze Restaurant on Hope Street. The group noshed on calamari, pizza and other finger foods, plus drinks before walking to the ballet studios, a couple of blocks down. While the weather was a bit wet and chilly, members said the evening was the worth the trek.
"Wonderful evening,"CAARI Secretary Roxana Sasse said. "I had forgotten how wonderful 'modern' dance and ballet can be."
CAARI member Mietek Flam added, "Attending rehearsal was an excellent idea...I simply enjoyed myself and gained insight into the process, how it is made to work."
Thank you for all who attended and for CAARI’s Leadership, who gave an “all-hands” on deck approach in making this event possible. We would also like to acknowledge Dylan Giles, FBP’s Marketing Director and company dancer, who assisted in coordinating our event. Lastly, we'd like to say "thank you" to the FBP dancers, who gave us a warm welcome and shared their love of dance with CAARI.
